1. CeLTIE Orientation and Tour            30 minutes              TRAINERS: Roger & Dan
Overview and walking tour of the key CeLTIE facilities, services, and policies:

  • Audio Language Labs with Sanako and Tandberg systems
  • Computer-Mediated Communication Lab (computer stations equipped with webcams and Skype)
  • Distance Learning/Language Table/International TV Room (with Polycom VSX 7000 videoconferencing systems)
  • Audio-Video Lab
    • multi-standard AV conversion, digitization, and duplication
    • digital audio/video editing
    • foreign movies viewing
    • language software library
    • course reserved materials
  • Sound-proof recording studio
  • International Keyboards, CeLTIE Shortcuts and website

2. Integrating Authentic Video Materials from YouTube      30 minutes              TRAINER: James
Show you how to convert, download, edit and integrate YouTube videos into your PowerPoint slide presentations.  (hands-on)

 

3. Audio Recording for Your Students        15 minutes      TRAINERS: Roger & Dan & Lucinda
Show your class how to record and upload oral assignments using Sanako Lite software. (hands-on)

 

4. Adding Audio Feedback to Students’ Oral Assignments        30 minutes              TRAINER: James
Show you how to add audio feedback to your students’ oral recordings using Sanako Lite recorder. (hands-on)

 

5. Audio Recording        30 minutes              TRAINER: Lucinda
Introduction to CeLTIE’s audio services and equipment including:

  • Sound-proof recording studio (for recording your course materials)
  • Audio cassette recorders, digital voice recorders (for recording your students' oral performance during proficiency interviews)
  • Computers with Sanako Lite recording software (for oral/aural assignments, tests, research experiments)

6. Editing Audios with Audacity      30 minutes      TRAINER: Lucinda
Import, edit and export audios using Audacity and then integrate them into your PowerPoint presentations.

 

7. Basic Video Recording and Editing          30 minutes      TRAINERS: Roger & Dan
Introduction to CeLTIE’s video equipment and services including: 

  • Camcorders, tripods, dollies available for check out
  • Video production support (for skit assignments recording and student film festivals)
  • Video editing software Windows Movie Maker & Pinnacle Studio (cut/paste, add subtitles and special effects, etc.)

8. Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC)     30 minutes      TRAINERS: Roger & Dan
Demonstration of the videoconferencing services and equipment at CeLTIE:

  • Polycom VSX 7000 systems
  • CMC Lab (computer stations equipped with webcams, Skype, and other Messengers)
  • Recording your audio conferences
  • Distance learning classrooms

9. Authoring Interactive Online Language Exercises          30 minutes      TRAINER: James
Use Hot Potatoes to create online exercises and quizzes.  (hands-on)
