Chinese Pedagogy Institute 2007

Teaching Statement
My teaching philosophy is to teach students the Chinese language through discipline and hard work.  I always say
that, "Success is 99% hard work and 1% talent."  I encourage students to try harder and go beyond the normal standards,
and I stress the importance of meeting deadlines and doing the best that one can.  Obedience, diligence, and cooperation
are three of my most important factors in my teaching infrastructure.  Students are to be encouraged and given praise, but
at the same time they are to be challenged further to reach their maximum potential.  Though, those who struggle with
keeping up must be assisted and tutored to help them understand and fully comprehend the curriculum.  In addition, my
goal is to constantly keep my students aware of the classroom expectations through tests and quizzes that will make sure
the students understand what is being taught.  This way I can both improve my teaching techniques and help students grasp
the concepts of the language.
