Teaching Statement
The teaching of language is to equip effective and culturally appropriate communication skills.  It should be fun,
purposeful and task oriented.  The teacher is not a saint on stage, but a guide by the side: she demonstrates and
models repeatedly the correct usage of the language, she lets the learner has many opportunities to practice and use
the language in appropriate context, she observes carefully and ensures and enforces correct usage, and she checks
for understanding and correct application of the skills learned.  Teaching and learning go hand in hand, in teaching, the
teacher also learns. Continuing education is essential.  The goals should always include fostering in learners a love of the
subject to want to continue to learn and equipping learners necessary skills to move on to learn and advance on their own.
