Teaching Statement
Instead of a teacher, I rather introduce myself as a learner. The reason I choose
to be an educator just because I like to learn, and I like to share everything positive
with others. My teaching style and techniques are improving because every time I
get feedback from my students, my colleagues and constantly participating many
professional developments. As a teacher, everyday I learn something new from my
students, and I share what I think is useful for them in their life such as Chinese
language and culture. I realized my passion for teaching when I worked with
students of different ethnicities and found how thrilling it was to patiently explain
topics as complex as language. I truly believe that every child is capable of learning
the Chinese language, and as an educator, it is my philosophy to do all that I can
to help them succeed and reach their goals. Understanding that high school
students have more responsibilities than elementary students, I tried to make
learning Chinese as entertaining and relaxing as possible. I sincerely wanted my
students to truly love and enjoy learning the Chinese language, and then become
a lifelong.
