Teaching
Statement
In
every class, I envision myself and my students beginning a
journey that will satisfy
their need to learn
from me and my desire to learn through teaching them. The
excitement
of teaching a second language springs
from the opportunity to share a new world vision
with my
students. In this process, we learn to embrace both
Western and eastern
perspectives and ideals as well as exploring
the language and culture of China. The
idea
of "Ying-Yang" is a great example of finding balance in one's
academic and
personal life. By raising my
expectations a little bit higher at a time, students are
confident to strive for excellence and realize their full
potential. I want to create an
environment where my students
feel secure and comfortable about sharing and
learning. This phenomenon allows us to have a deep bond that
extends itself into
a challenging curriculum
that fosters nurturing relationships. |
